Day 16, April 16, 2012

I weighed in last night, and yay I lost 8 lbs!!! :) So, in the first three weeks, I have lost 8 lbs. I really hope that it keeps going!! I don't think it will be as fast, but hopefully I can still average at least 1 lb a week. I would like that!! It would be even better if it was closer to 2 lbs a week, or maybe 5 lbs a month. We'll have to see what happens. I lost 2 lbs last week, without exercise. I rollerbladed yesterday, i rode my bike AND rollerbladed today.

My reading last night was about protecting your cells and slowing the aging process by eating more antioxidents that help block free radicals. It was really interesting that it is so important to eat vegetables, fruits, beans, nuts and seeds that have beta carotene, vitamin c, vitamin e, etc. They help your cells natural defenses against free radicals. It was also interesting to me that there are certain foods you can eat that actually encourage the production of free radicals. Gross right? The ones in particular that they mentioned are iron (which you can get too much of if you eat a lot of meat or take supplements), alcohol and oils.
